Using our technical sales staff we can work with you to produce a tailor made design specifically for your product if our standard designs cannot be adapted to your needs. Our technical sales staff do not receive a sales commission and so atheir only motivation is to give you the best design for your product.
Before starting the design we will consider weight, fragility, method of transport and handling, and product value. We then look at the cushioning that the product requires in order to meet the specification and will consider both the material and the particular grade of material needed. At that stage we will then look at the outer packaging requirement and will normally use a FEFCO design with the appropriate grade of board. We will then consider if we can improve the price/performance ratio by amending any elements of the design and consult with you if necessary.
After agreeing a basic design with you we will usually produce a sample for your approval for which there is normally no charge.
Production can usually start within 14 days of sample approval - sooner if no tooling or CNC programming is required. If we propose a moulded polystyrene solution there will usually be a longer period involved, up to 8 weeks, because of the time needed for the precision toolmaking.
There is no tooling charge for cut pads but there is usually a small charge of around £30 for CNC programming or £125 upwards for a foam press tool. Moulded polystyrene tools are expensive - in the thousands of pounds. A guide price will be given if we are suggesting this type of solution.
